Pre-paid calling cards allow the consumer to buy a certain amount of phone usage. They can prove a useful tool in any number of situations. They don't generally work on a per minute basis though, as the rate can vary depending on time of day and the to/from location of the call. Instead they have adopted the mysterious 'unit' or 'credit'. We would be happy to publish a lucid account of how the pricing of these pre-paid cards works in terms of number of minutes you can talk on the phone, if we had a clue.
